Aperture: a space through which light passes in an optical or photographic instrument, especially the variable opening by which light enters a camera.
That is the photography definition and aspect of it, but that's not all. Loni shoots with a Nikon D750 as well as a backup Nikon D7200. Her preferred mode is manual, but will adjust as the occasion calls for it. It doesn't matter if it's a wedding, a family reunion, or team pictures, each photo shoot is equally important and Loni always gives it her all. From making sure she gets the shot, to the editing afterwards.
​Designs: What started out as creating custom yard signs has grown into so much more. We design everything from t-shirts, to decals, to holiday decor and even ornaments. We love to customize and personalize, and coming up with new creative ways to do it. Even if it's something as simple as putting faces on stickers to place on Christmas presents for kids who can't read yet.
What is Aperture Designs?
We are Kasey and Loni Marie Kernen.
We are a married couple who developed an interest in photography and design. We met in 2010, were married in 2013, and live in Southeastern Ohio with our three boys; Campbell, Findley, and Emmitt.
Loni always had an interest in photography. She renewed her passion after picking up her first DSLR roughly 10 years ago and now rarely leaves home without her camera. She has extended these interests into crafting and personal design via multiple different kinds of mediums. Her interests have also spread into community involvement with a strong desire to promote business growth in our small town.
Kasey is an aspiring teacher and when needed serves as a secondary photographer. While he does not get in to the creation aspect of Aperture Designs, he is the main voice of communication and every day operations. Not only does he serve in this role, but he serves as the main support of our endeavors. Kasey is also non-denominationally ordained and can perform wedding ceremonies.
I have loved taking pictures since I was little, and I've been shooting professionally since 2015. I use a Nikon D750 DSLR camera, a Nikon D7200 and a Canon T3 DSLR camera, and I love capturing special moments and freezing them in time like a special memory.
